10 Minute Makeover: Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and Miss Mustard Seed White Wax

                                                                     Ten minutes.  

                                                                                                                                                   Literally. 

That's exactly how long it took for me to make over the frames on these two fabulous owl prints using Annie Sloan chalk paint in "Graphite" and some Miss Mustard Seed White Wax.  

                                                                          Ten minutes.... including the four minutes that it took me to put the tape around them so that I didn't make a big mess all over the glass.

Rustic Gray and White (and Pink) Thanksgiving Table Decor

This year, my Thanksgiving table decor is pastel. Well, not really pastel. It's gray and white and metallic, too.  I knew that I wanted something a little different this year even though I'll be setting the table and baking pies at my mom and dad's home again this year because I don't really have a working kitchen.

Summer Store Window with Giant Paper Flowers

I did some restyling at the shop over the holiday weekend (Vintage Fresh in Downers Grove, IL).    I installed a new summer-themed display for the shop window which includes a newsprint banner and GIANT free-standing newsprint flowers with tissue paper centers that I created.  I wanted the window to feel fresh and happy and to focus not only on summer but also on the shop's specialty: painted furniture.

Contemporary Apartment Small Bath Makeover

When I began the renovation at the apartment, I knew that the bathroom needed some help, I just didn't know how much help! The decorating and fixtures were 30 years old...which may not sound like much...until you consider the fact that it's a rental.  One of the things that intrigued me most about this project is that it gave me a chance to stretch my design imagination. French Farm House Kitchen Progress: Paint and Light Fixtures

The first room on my long list of rooms that needed painting at the French Farmhouse was the kitchen. When we took possession of the house, the walls of the kitchen and the adjacent hall which leads to the back door and basement were painted a very dark red which reminded me of tomato paste....dark red and a little shiny.
