An Unlikely "Blogger"

I'll admit it, I'm shy. I've never been comfortable putting myself out there. I'm the one who's always happiest working behind the scenes to create beautiful settings for other people's parties and beautiful things for other people's lives.  So, you see, the mere concept of writing about the things that I've done all my life is, for me, more than a little daunting but the desire to create things is as natural for me as breathing.

I'm not one to offer advice unless asked, but am always willing to share information, and to show how something's done,  and the share things that I learn along the way. I tend to allow people to see the things that I do and decide for themselves whether or not they'd like to know more. So, that's what I've decided to do.

This isn't going to be a blog about everything I do, it won't be a "regular" event that you can set a clock by unless you decide that you want it to be.  I've decided to post a few photos of the things that I'm creating and then to allow all of you to tell me what you want to know about.  Do you think that we could do that?

I have no "logo", no banner, none of that as I haven't had the time to figure that out... yet.  I have a full time job in corporate America, a home, 2 adolescent sons, a husband and a 13 year old yellow lab named "Martha Stewart".

I find that I'm just like most everyone in the blogsphere....a normal woman who is finding and creating a beautiful life...one "find," at a time. While my life hasn't always gone as "planned", it has ALWAYS had a heaping helping of Serendipity...

Here's what I've been up to this week. Let me know what you think!
My version of a white autumn mantel using vintage lace, sheetmusic and spray painted pumpkins

A simple autumn mantel with a coffee filter wreath and dried bittersweet, allium, and hydrangea from my yard.

My outdoor urn, filled with cabbage, bittersweet, ivy, and burlap.

Halloween wreaths made from burlap and tulle.

  3. The first step is ALWAYS the hardest. By now, I'm sure the apprehension has faded away. Can you believe your one year blogging anniversary is coming up already?!

By the way, your fall flourishes are lovely, Kimberly. And now it is almost time to bring them back out! Where does the time go? ;)

    1. I'm getting better every day. I still find it difficult to work full time, spend time with my family, run a household and blog. Balance is not a concept that I've ever been very good at! ;) I'm looking forward to Autumn...were it not for winter coming right behind it, it would likely be my favorite time of year!
