Christmas in My Kitchen - 2011

I thought that I'd share a few shots of this year's Christmas decorations in my kitchen...

of course, I'm not finished...

Christmas decorating is like that for me.

Like the bunny...on the battery commercial....

It keeps going.....and going....

...and going.  I love my little kitchen tree. It's decorated with wooden spoons, cookie cutters, a collection of small copper ornaments and   "gingerbread cookie" ornaments that I made from cinnamon, applesauce....and Elmer's glue!!!

Directions and the tutorial recipe are here

I also  decided to change things up just a little bit this year. I put away all of my newer decor and brought out the vintage.

Like this adorable set which was a gift from my BFF, Ann, from Nellie's.

Bottle brush trees, my mother in law's white enamel coffee pot and, of course...white ironstone!

I made the J  O  Y  medallions using vintage sheet music, construction paper, silver glitter  and letters drawn with Sharpie Marker. I found the tiny trees  at Home Depot. Aren't they cute? They're actually alive (for now)!

I added more garland and copper cookie cutters to the chandelier in the breakfast room and dressed the table in a table cloth that I made from black and white buffalo checked flannel trimmed in red.

The centerpiece is a vintage paper mache' boot that I filled with pinecones, some faux greens and a German glass glitter snowflake. The candlesticks were my most recent GoodWill find...Seriously..99 cents each!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
