Miss Mustard Seed Hemp Oil on Unpainted Vintage Wood

When I write a post about vintage or reclaimed furniture, you'll usually find me talking about painting it. Over the next several weeks, I'm going to talk to you about pieces that I choose not to paint and the finishes that I use on those items. Today, I'm sharing my experience with Miss Mustard Seed's hemp oil on vintage pieces used inside my home as an alternative to wax or polyurethane.

Once Upon a Time: Child's Story Time Seat

Once upon a time, a very long time ago, there was a tiny foot rest, that came to live in a house in the suburbs.  It was a sad little foot rest. Really too small to be of much use but just too darned cute not to hang on to.

Changing Hardware: The "Hole" Story

While refinishing my roadside rescue dresser for the studio, I decided to change from the traditional waterfall bale pulls that came on the cabinet to something a bit more my style. You guessed it,  farm girl french. I wanted the cabinet to have an older, more utilitarian, feel. I chose Restoration Hardware Dakota 3/4 inch button knobs in rustic pewter for the smaller, top drawers on the cabinet.

Vintage Market Recap - WARNING: HEAVY PHOTO CONTENT

This weekend, I was blessed to be a part of a wonderful, Vintage Market at the home of my dear friends, Polly and Steve from Counting Your Blessings. These gracious hosts not only cleared the first floor of their historic farmhouse for this event, they also assembled a group of incredibly talented, smart, funny and crazy-talented vendors in which I was humbled to be included. 

Two days...above fifty degrees...in March... in Illinois!!!!

Last year, I decided to paint my patio furniture in bright colors. It was fun and caused the neighbors to wonder if I'd lost my mind. Immediately after I did it, I wondered the same thing! I lived with it last summer but I knew that this spring, things were going to change!

So, given the GLORIOUS weather that's forecast for today and tomorrow, I'm getting a head start on correcting the "error of my ways". I LOVE PRIMER and white paint!!!!!
