The great, old fashioned kind of magic. With silk top hats, white gloves, and capes.
I also love Halloween and the special kind of magic that makes a mantel that looks like this turn into
something completely different.
So, I practiced a little magic on my living room mantel this week.
Say it with me....
Doesn't even look like the same mantel, does it?!
It's hard to believe that a few old pumpkins, a collection of new and vintage hats, and my silver candlesticks
turned into this!
You know what else is magical? The sign...
I created it in Word Perfect and took it to Kinko's. For $4.95, they enlarged it to 2x3 feet.
I added a little glitter and spray mounted it to a piece of black mat board which I had cut to fit into the frame.
Magic...right over the existing print...glass and all!
I'll probably make a cool, vintage looking sign for next year but I'm happy with how it looks, for now.
I've also got some glass balls to put inside of the cauldron, an owl to add to the cage, and a couple of signs
to make but, considering that Monday's only October 1st, I think that I'm doing okay.
I also put a little Halloween on the cabinet in the foyer.
